CONSTELLATIONS:

Log from: 26^th November 2014 – 14^thJanuary 2015

(Rehearsals and Shows)

Wednesday 26^th November 2014:

No rehearsals took place.

Thursday 27^th November 2014:

The SM, LX and SND designer all attended the Constellations rehearsals, as their 1^st years had classes at the same times, which meant that Ben had to be SM on book for the first two weeks while Emily (DSM) was in lessons.

First production meeting for Constellations was conducted by myself and attended by a Rep of the Techs, Stand-in Tutor, Vanessa (Director alongside Sarah), Reps from the cast and the departments involved on the show. In this first meeting, each person has to introduce themselves to the group and to say their roles for the show. After, the director said what her visions are of the show i.e. Based on universes and monologues between each character. Straight after the director’s vision, I went through each departments tasks i.e. Ground Plan for Production Management; Rehearsal Schedule for Stage Management; Initial Designs for Lighting, SND and AV.

Friday 28^th November 2014:

I started to form a schedule for two-day overview and the daily crew sheet.

In both schedules, the information that is required is the activities of the day:

Schedule needs to include activity, time, location of where the get-in and get-outs take place and who is required for the get-in and get-outs.

I also had to create a ground plan based on how NB theatre looks; this includes the Counter Weight and Hemp Bars, overheads, auditorium, staging (if required), masking (Hard – Tormentors and Soft – Legs) and borders for Counter Weight and Hemp bars. Used a software called ‘VECTORWORKS’ to create my ground plan.

Monday 1^st December to Wednesday 3^rd December 2014:

On 3^rd December, rehearsals commenced for Constellations, which included all departments to attend.

In the afternoon, the Agenda for the Constellations second production meeting was sent to all departments, directors and tutors involved for Thursday 4^th December.

Thursday 4^th December 2014:

The second production meeting took place, included a brief catch-up to see if each department it up to date with the tasks and able to meet the deadlines that has been set i.e. Initial Design deadline for SND and LX is 5-12-2014 and an initial props list from Stage Management.

Friday 5^th December 2014:

No rehearsals

Monday 8^th and Tuesday 9^th December 2014:

Musical Showcase get-in and shows took place.

Wednesday 10^th December 2014:

Get-Out for Showcase took place from 9am to 1pm, which meant to strike all aspects of booms, LX bars – including overheads, Sound, Props (tables etc.) and Masking.

Thursday 11^th December 2014:

The third production meeting took place, included a brief catch-up to see if each department it up to date with the tasks and able to meet the deadlines that has been set i.e. Initial Design deadline for SND and LX is 5-12-2014 and an initial props list from Stage Management.

CHRISTMAS HALF TERM

Monday 5^th to Friday 9^th January 2015:

Rehearsals from 10am – 4pm for the Constellations cast and production team.

Had the pre-plot for both Constellations and Musical Choreography as advised by course leader.

Friday 9^th, the fourth and last production meeting took place and this meant that all designs should be in, all last minute props should be sourced (including delivery etc.) and what is outstanding i.e. Final Designs, Risk Assessments.

Monday 12^th January 2015:

Get-In for Constellations took place

Tuesday 13^th January 2015:

Two Constellations shows took place with all departments in action, at the end of the final show the crossover for Musical Choreography happened.
