Steps of how to Rig and Focus a Lantern - Lighting

HOW TO RIG AND FOCUS A LANTERN :THE STEPS

You probably might thing, rigging and focusing a Lantern hard. But actually, it is very simple to rig or focus a lantern on the grid (LX 2 Bar at Northbrook College Sussex).

Follow these steps, to make your Rigging and focussing of a Lantern a success:

1. Prepare the lantern at floor level (the TRS needs to putting in a mini bow or knot)
2. A visual inspection of the whole lantern (checking the TRS cable and the outer of the Lantern)
3. Check the plug socket area (making use that there is no melting or other damage).
4. Making sure that the Lantern is tested for safety (there should be a green or blue tag that has 'PASSED')
5. Check the G-Clamp above the lantern and yoke (the wing, nuts and bolts are tight enough).
6. Make sure that all adjustments are working properly on the lantern (the shutter blades).
7. Check that all accessories have been added before rigging.
8. Check that you the safety chain (this is important, as the Lantern can easily drop off the LX bar).
8. You now hook the Lantern onto the LX Bar.
9. You then tighten the wingnut.
10. You then get the safety chain and attach it to the LX Bar.
11. Make sure that you rig the lantern in the right way up (If not, the beam off light will be projected clearly).
12. Point the Lantern in the area that you want the light to project.
13. You then open the shutter doors and barndoors (if attached to the lantern).
14. Check the length of the cable.
15. Make sure that there is enough slack for the lantern and the plug socket, as this will create enough movement space.
16. You then attached a bungey to the loose wiring (fold TRS into one and apply the bungey onto the LX Bar).
17. Plug in your Lantern.
18.Now you are ready to go.
