Induction Week @ Northbrook

Welcome to Northbrook College

We all met at the foyer/theatre section, to wait for our tutors to come and collect us. My tutor for this course is Jo Loader (Known as JO-LO to some). When 10:30am approached, JO-LO took half of the class to get their photos taken for their new ID Cards.

At 10:50, we all got given a Brief of the course; Calenders and the Assignment Documentation for Unit 1 which is called Induction to the course discipline.

As it approached 11am, we met the second year where they introduced themselves. Soon after, JO-LO introduced us the first years; as we were all shy too. After we have done that, One or two of the second years had to be our buddy/ies. Where they will give us a tour around the University Centre (pictured above, Right hand side).

As I would say, it is very useful to be shown around even if you know it or not.
Then we went for a Lunch at 12:45pm. At Lunch, Sophie; Bernadette and I decide to go into the canteen and eat. After, 20 minutes we started to talk about pervious experience in the arts industry; hobbies/interests and general life.

I guess sometimes breaking the Ice, can help you come out of the shyness zone and can lead into happiness.

After lunch, we decided to go into the Theatre where JD and Db introduced us to the theatre space. During the time, JD and DB took us for a backstage tour of the theatre and what health and safety regualtions to follow.
Soon after, we were introduced to the Tallescope.
By taking into reference, we had to know how to use the tallescope and the risk factor of using it. The importance of the tallescope is:
  •           Hozitional on Stage (Flat and Level)
  •           One Technician must have training

At the end of the day, I learnt the basics information and it does pay a lot of attention and determination.
